The skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development for any country. Presently, we face a demand-supply mismatch, as the economy needs more 'skilled' workforce than that is available. In the higher education sphere, knowledge and skills are required for diverse forms of employment in the sector of education, health care, beauty care, fashion world, manufacturing and other services. Government of India, taking note of the requirement for skill development among students launched National Vocational Education Qualification Framework (NVEQF) which was later on assimilated into National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). Keeping the same in consideration UGC has started community college scheme to integrate relevant skills into the higher education.
Proposals were submitted to UGC under Community College Scheme, in pursuant to which three Skill Programmes / Courses have been sanctioned with the intake of 50 students for each course. The courses are of Certificate & Diploma level with multiple entry and exit options. The students who enroll for Certificate Courses and continue their education for one year will be awarded a Diploma. The young and passionate faculty is dedicated to impart high quality education and training to its students. The Institute has quality infrastructure and latest learning resources supplemented by well-equipped labs and library which provides a fertile ground for teaching- learning environment. The department constituted "Kalakriti Society" which consists of Principal Madam, Dr. (Mrs.) Suresh Boora, Nodal officer Mrs. Shalini, all faculty member of department and twenty diligent students.
