Women Cell

Women Cell of the college is making every effort for uplifting women and its empowerment. In order to make students aware about gender issues and social biases, the Women Cell hosts a series of activities to provide a space for students to share their experiences. The cell also conducts various programs along with civil society groups and generating dialogues to restructure social space around us. Eminent scholars and experts are invited to usher in awareness about various laws and regulations pertaining to dowry, marriage, property rights, sexual harassment and female feticide etc. Throughout the year, the cell helps to organise interactive sessions, workshops & events like Declamation, Essay Writing, Slogan Writing, Poster Making, Collage Making, Painting etc. in which students can actively participate.

The cell moves forward with the goal of providing a platform for sensitisation & empowerment. Apart from involving the community in their outreach Programmes like gender sensitization, imbalance in sex-ratio, female foeticide, domestic violence, health awareness, environmental protection etc, students and teachers of “Dress Designing and Tailoring” and “Beauty and wellness” fine tune the skills of women folk in enhancing their entrepreneurship acumen.


Objectives of the Cell are: -

  • Creating leadership quality among women to lead change.
  • To create social awareness about the problems of women and in particular regarding gender discrimination.
  • To develop the self confidence of Women.
  • To guide about Women Welfare Laws.
  • To assert the importance of spiritual, economic, social, racial and gender equality.
  • To highlight the importance of health and hygiene.
  • To directs Women’s role in the society.
  • To develop multidisciplinary approach for the overall personality development.


A One Day National Seminar on "Empowering Women to Lead Change" was organised on 15th Dec. 2015 by Women Cell under the patronage of Director Higher Education Haryana. Around 300 Scholars, Academicians, thinkers and research scholars from all over India had deliberated on the various aspects of the topic and the dire necessity for its immediate redressal.


Proceedings of the seminar were compiled and published for future generations in the form of an edited Book entitled "Empowering Women to Lead Change.


An Edited book entitled "Empowering Women to Lead Change" was published during the session. This book is compilation of some of selected Research Papers presented by in the seminar.
