The department of geography was started in the year 2001 and Master of Art (Geography) was started from 2013 presently the department has 40 seats for PG course. Geographers study the natural and social processes that form our environments and interpret the changing interrelationships between environment and society. Geography courses examine the role of the natural environment in limiting and creating opportunities for people, and the role of society in reshaping the Earth habitat. At UGC, the Geography undergraduate program is divided into three fields: Physical, human, and technical. The Department offers a wide range of courses leading to a Bachelor of Art Degree.

It helps students to make since of their surroundings and to gain a better appreciation and Understanding of the variety of physical and human conditions on earth's surface.
