Report of One Day Multi-Disciplinary National Seminar
Road safety club of the college is formed to organise road safety education for improving students road safety. It contains educational activities that helps the students gain more knowledge and make them aware about the dangers and risks involved. Also explain ways to keep them safe and develope the skills in understanding consequences for imparting education in road safety. Workshops are organised to be taken by Traffic and Police Officials for making students aware about basic safety rules.
Road safety club in collaboration with National Service scheme of Kanya Mahavidyalaya Khakhoda, Sonipat organized one-day Multi-Disciplinary National Seminar entitled "Need for expanding Road Safety Standards for progressive India" on 22nd March 2018 which culminated into a grand success. Approximately 150 delegates from different institutions and more than 100 students of different cells like Red Cross, Red Ribbon, N.S.S volunteers presented their research papers in this Seminar.
The day commences with registration followed by an inaugural session. The Chief guest for the event was Sh. Ved Parkash Dahiya (President of governing body, Kanya Mahavidyalaya Kharkhoda, Sonipat ). By lightening the lamp in front of Goddess Saraswati, all dignitaries gave their consent to start the seminar. Dr. Suresh Boora, principal K.M.K welcomed all the guests by presenting bouquets. Dr. Sumita convener of the seminar briefly gave introduction to the theme of the seminar. Key Note speaker Dr. Jagbir Dahiya( Associate professor, Swami Shradanand College Delhi ), addressed the delegates Towards "Road Safety kit and disaster crisis management" and the demonstration which he gave filled the gathering with more knowledge.
In the plenary Session, Dr. Ritu Saxena (From Lok Nayak Hispital, Deputy Medical Superintendent and chief of Accident and emergency Department ) and M.S Babita, Chairperson of an NGO (Uday New foundation) enlightened the delegates regarding Road Safety Measures from different perspectives, which was chaired by Dr. Jagbir Dahiya (Associate Professor).
Total Four parallel sessions were executed at different Venues. First technical session was conducted in Seminar Hall chaired by Dr. Rajesh Hooda( Assistant Professor of BPSMV, Faculty of Law).
Second technical Session was organized in language Lab, where 15 delegate presented their papers under the Supervision of Chairperson Dr. Seema Dahiya (Assistant Professor BPSMV , Law Faculty).
Third technical session was chaired by Dr. Shalini (Assistant Professor, BPSMV Dept. of English) which was organized in Room No. 1
Fourth technical session was organized in Room No.2 where Dr. Preeti Sharma, Assistant Professor (Department of Commerce, MDU Rohtak ) performed the duty of chairperson. Nearly 25 delegates presented their papers in this technical session.
All The delegates from different institutions and students of KMK covered various themes of the seminar like Economic impacts of Road Accidents, A review of literature on Safety Education , The Grand Trunk Road: In historical perspective, Recklessness and Alcholic consumption before driving etc.
Prof. Yudhvir Singh ( Dean of college M.D.U Rohtak ) graced the occasion as chief guest in valedictory session and Prof. Sally Lukose, Head Dept. Forensic Science, Institute of Road Traffic Education, Faridabad) enlightened the gathering on road safety issues in Haryana.
Dr. Sumita was the convener, Dr. Darshana, Dr. Permila performed duties of co-converners. Principal Dr. suresh Boora congratulated the whole team for the grand success of the seminar.
